Installing a wall kit is no fun

I love the dog flap, I think it's the best on the market. 5 stars for the door, 1 star for the wall set. The wall kit is required for wall mounting, but can be retrofitted. It should include some latches on the pipes to help align the screws as you can't see what you are doing. Aligning two holes with 6 inches between them where you can't see the screw slot is the worst part of the installation. In addition, the liner must be articulated. At first I thought it was between the dog door and the studs, but it's in the dog door. So you put that liner in place, then you put in the inside of the door, lift the liner to place it on the inside, and then try the same thing after you've attached the outside of the door. Then try to align the screws. If it were hinged and could be deployed AFTER the doors were installed, the installation would be much easier. It's annoying and frustrating when you're already trying to tighten the screws without being able to see what you're doing. I'd rather buy long screws from a hardware store and find something else to hide the gap.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Security
