Review on Marine Dynamics Hydrofoil Speed Junior by Carlos Alston

I installed this on my Yamaha 25hp 4 stroke engine. 2017. He is on a Tracker Grizzly 1448 All Welded Boot with a modified V-hull. Total weight, boat, motor, battery, 6 gallons and I weigh about 1000 pounds. Step 9 3/4 x 10. Before installing, it took a few seconds and a few hundred feet to fully open the plane. 3/4 throttle to stay flat. Once installed, it bounced the plane 50 feet or less and stayed on the plane at half throttle with ease. I tried half throttle from a full stop and it still came in easily, just took a little longer. I've noticed some improvement in fuel efficiency, but my Yamaha is new, has been ridden less than 10 hours and still uses more gas than a broken engine. Even with this equation, I've seen at least a 25 percent increase in efficiency. And I also gave a lot of full throttle. I hardly noticed a difference in top speed, about 26mph before and after. The boat was also much easier to steer (tiller) with the ramp. Without them I got about half the length of the boat on the plane. This gives me about 18 inches of water contact at 3/4 throttle and less at full throttle. I had to adjust the motor after installing the ramp. To be precise, cut a hole equal to 4 degrees. The resulting nose lift made a huge difference for the better. To sum up, these things are ugly, but they work very well!
