Review on Monroe 58510 Adjust Shock Absorber by Erik Snyder

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product and great price, very poor packaging.

These shocks replace the rear air shocks on the C-pillar of a Chevy 2-door Resto Mod '55. The air shocks started to leak and I was looking for a replacement. These dampers give a much better ride and I don't have to use air dampers to raise the rear of the car a bit. The car is now a little higher at the back than at the front, which is what I wanted and still want. With the car on a lift the new shock absorbers had to be "jacked up" and put back in to install which took a bit of effort but it ended up being exactly how I wanted it. One shock arrived with some oil on the shock body and may need to be returned later, but time will tell. The shocks were packaged very poorly and there were a couple of holes in the shipping box which meant some of the mounting nuts were missing and surprisingly no more parts were lost. Due to the weight and size of these items, Revain needs to prepare these shipments much better. This is the main reason why I only rated them "four stars".
