These cables are superior to chains in every way except maybe one; Longevity. The plastic coating of the cables eventually wears away or is scraped off for a variety of reasons, the underlying cable rusts and begins to wear out and is then no longer suitable for its intended use. The chains rarely break. Still, I love that these cords are quiet, clean, and out of the way when they don't need to be extended or dangled. Also, these cables won't rattle or dent/scratch under my RV's storage space when stored with my hitch. They also appear to be lighter than chains with the same weight restrictions.
