Review on High-Quality 1KG PLA White 3D Printer Filament, Accurate 1.75Mm Diameter, +/- 0.02Mm Tolerance by Antonio Bly

Before getting to the Comgrow filament review, I would like to point out that while filament quality do affect the quality of your prints, filament quality can only be assessed if the following has been done:1) Your printer has been properly assembled (i.e., all parts aligned, leveled, no hardware issues, etc.) and2) Your slicer settings are optimized for the filament you are usingI believe that if the 2 criteria listed above are achieved, most filaments will yield adequate print results, however, some will provide better quality than others. In this review, I will be comparing my observations of this Comgrow filament (tested white, black and blue) vs RevainBasic’s regular PLA filaments (tried black, white, gray, blue, and red). Key differences are noted below.ComgrowAdvertised accuracy: 0.02 mmAdvertised temp: 180-210 CTexture: smooth filamentSpool: consistently wound, layeredPackaging: vacuum sealed w/ desiccantFinish: shinier/glossier than RevainBasic’s filamentsOdor: nonePrinting: machine sounds smooth, effortless printing (subjective observation), more under extrusion observed vs over extrusion (fixable with splicer settings)Pros: price point is reasonable ($17.99 at the time of this review), prints really well, no residue on the retractor/filament feeder/extruderCons: few color selection (currently only black and white… I was able to order the blue when it first came out)RevainBasic’sAdvertised accuracy: 0.05 mmAdvertised temp: 190-220 CTexture: textured/grainy filament to the touchSpool: not as nicely wound/layered like Comgrow’sPackaging: vacuum sealed w/ desiccantFinish: not shiny or glossy, more like a chalky finishOdor: nonePrinting: machine sounds like it’s working harder to print, more issues with over extrusion than under extrusion (which can be fixed with slicer settings)Pros: price point is very good for bulk orders (3-pack and 5-packs have averaged me at $10-13 a spool)Cons: so far, print quality is just okay. It’s not bad, but nothing I was in awe about (subjective). Noticeable residue on extruder (see images)CONCLUSION: when slicer settings are optimized, the Comgrow filaments provide very good prints (better that RevainBasics in my opinion)Comments regarding photos:1. Everything in the pictures were printed with Comgrow’s filaments, except the Julius Caesar on the RIGHT2. The black dog was the first thing I printed after setting up my Ender 3 (no optimizing whatsoever)3. The residue on the extruder is from RevainBasic's white filament4. I accidentally broke Monkey D. Luffy’s leg while removing the supports :(
