Love these 4 packs of 40 inch black straps. To be honest I've been looking for an extra strap for my husband's work pants for a while and he really likes the quick release buckle. All I could find were 1.25 inches wide and above that with an even wider buckle. Because they are so wide, they would never fit through the belt loops. I stumbled across these straps and was so relieved I didn't even realize they were straps at first. Since they were the perfect size and you can get 4 straps for less than the cost of 1 strap, I gave it a try. They make perfect belts! They are strong, well made and have an extra buckle for the rest. If you don't hook through the excess it will come off easily otherwise it will stay in place. Haven't noticed any damage yet. I expect they will work really well for a smaller belt and as for the belt they are great! I recommend them.
