This is great for checking the angle on a table or miter box on any instrument. I had an issue with the gauge sticking to the front of the gauge but I managed to fix it. It's great to be in the shop checking angles and you know you're always getting a fairly accurate prep without worrying about the electronics since an electronic protractor has failed. I've decided to go back to a reliable magnetic meter. Of course it's not an accurate tool and I wouldn't expect it to be accurate, but if you need up to half a degree of accuracy for miter cuts etc, this is a great angled finder.
