Review on 🔋 Schumacher Battery Charger & Engine Starter - Boost & Maintain - 100A/30A, 6V/12V - Tractors, Cars, Trucks by Jay Meza

This is an excellent charger. But first I only rated it one star and said in that review that it's not good at all. I contacted Schumacher tech support because the charger doesn't really charge the batteries to 100%. The charger will display 100% when charging is complete. However, if you check the battery with a conductivity tester (Solar BA9), it would show that the battery is only 88% charged. Schumacher technical support said that with all maintenance free flat top batteries you should use the "AGM" setting when charging the battery. You're using the "Standard" setting, it says, when the battery actually has screw or press-in caps that allow water to be added to the battery. Then I changed my charger to "AGM" and what is the difference. This charger charges the battery very quickly and doesn't even heat it up like the old manual chargers used to do. Note that some maintenance free batteries have removable top covers, but they don't really look like it. The Walmart Everstart Maxx 75-5S is one of them and I used the AGM setting to charge it (as instructed by Schumacher tech support). A really good charger when set up correctly.
