(I have included photos of a non-GE surge protector to illustrate what happened during the surge) A month ago the small town where I live experienced a surge. Power outages are so common here that everyone has surge protectors and generators. But I'm telling you right now, this is no joke. My grandfather, a retired electrician with 30 years of experience, was even surprised and made me buy him the same one. My house is the first next to the main power line and I was hit. Difficult. The splash made me jump out of my skin, and as you can see in the photo, the splash hit the side of my air conditioner's built-in guard. It completely fried my original GE strip, but didn't damage any of my expensive electronics. Not TV, XBOX, Soundbar, Clock, DVR. Nothing. I'm beside myself with impressions. Don't settle for less. This is the way.
