Review on LIGHTESS Modern Sconce: Stylish 7W Up and Down Wall Lights for Indoor Spaces - LED Wall Lamp for Bedroom and Hallway (Cool White, 6000K) by Joey Quade

It looks good, but it's worth paying attention to.

I work with electricity as a way of life. To me, this has some serious design flaws. I would never say to anyone "don't buy this" because when I see other people writing this I just WANT to buy it. But here's what you should be aware of before you buy: If you look at the instructions, the back of this light is flat and the wiring forms an acute angle at the back. This is a problem on several levels. The first, of course, is that when installing according to the instructions, you pinch the wires. This can create a fire hazard. Second, all the wires have a bend radius and none of them are hard 90. If you have a junction box behind the light, lucky you! Unfortunately, if the JB is a 4x4, you're still going to break your wires, as you can see by looking at where the wires exit from the back. Maybe they should have centered the exit point? If you don't have a junction box, you won't have space to store wire nuts either. I created a wall mount junction box to offset this lamp by 20mm, which is basically enough to avoid pinching the cord and make room for the cord. Links. It's very easy if you install according to the instructions, but again there's a chance you'll start a house fire, so check the batteries in your smoke alarm. Otherwise, plan for extensive site preparation. One more thing - these things say 7W or 5W depending on where you're looking. The wires are 18-20 gauge stranded wire. Maybe even less. At 18 AWG (large sizes), you can draw about 4.5 amps (max). While most LED bulbs use much less energy, this should be taken into account when choosing alternative bulbs for these bulbs.

Pros

Cons
  • No machine
