I bought two different ear pads to replace the original Sony MDR-7506 ear pads (we all don't know why). Wicked Cushions are black on the left and blue on the right are Brainwavz. I wanted to do a comparison test to see which ones I like the most. I rated the ear pads based on comfort, sound quality, and overall product quality. Wicked Cushions are slightly softer and thinner than Brainwavz. I haven't worn them long and will update when I have one. Note: I wear glasses so this is an important consideration for the comfort of the ear cushions. The sound from two different pads had a surprisingly different tonal quality. Wicked Cushions had slightly more bass and lows, while Brainwavz had less bass but cleaner mids and highs. Installing the two different pads was the same, but installing the Wicked Cushions was a little more difficult. If you look at the photos, you can see that the Wicked cushions have extra material on the ends, creating a poorly finished look with sagging material in the ear cushion attachment area. The quality of the Wicked Cushions was not as good as the Brainwavz ear pads. The quality of the stitching on the mounting hardware and the pads themselves were not as tight and clean as you can see from the photos. The ear hole on the two pads is slightly different, the Wicked Cushions are slightly larger. I now have both Wicked Cushions installed on my Sony MDR-7506 headphones and will be doing long term testing for reliability and comfort. (update follows). I'm not going to make any recommendations now as to what I like best, the information provided is intended to educate other buyers about the different characteristics of the two different ear pads.
