I have a baking sheet already of the same type, and the addition of the rack is something I don't use for that purpose. I have a full roaster for roasts and larger birds, and when I slow cook roast, I don't use a pan, but a slow cooker, or Dutch oven. The rack was important to me though, as I make tempura, onion rings, chicken strips and battered fish. While some coatings work in the air oven, many of these are best with deep frying in oil. I have a small wok that, and a deep fryer with small tempura rack that works when cooking up some good fried food. I used to use paper towel, but the food sticks and sometimes becomes soggy. This rack was really good for making my onion rings and chicken strip combo lunch today.I roll sticky raw just thawed or fresh chicken strips (can use breasts but they take longer to cook), in seasoned flour. Then I rolled that in a scrambled raw egg wash, and finally in fresh Panko crumbs before deep frying. The spices in the flour are sealed in, the Panko on the outside is crispy and golden brown. To keep them crisp I place them on the rack with the non-stick baking sheet to catch the oil. Onion rings are similar except I make those with a spice blend of batter made with corn starch. They drain even better on the rack. The beauty of this is with the non-stick coating I can rinse this off in hot water and a soapy sponge in 2 minutes in the sink when done and return the cooling rack to its place next to my cutting board. Good quality stuff, the baking pan works well for a full complement of cinnamon rolls or Grands flaky layer biscuits and cleans up just as fast. Recommended.
