Worthy purchase. - Docking Stations

The device itself is beautiful. He is light. The design is beautiful and compact. I like that it stands with ports on both sides. Tried a few different hubs. I like stand up design a lot more. Saves space and doesn't get in the way. I needed a hub with more ports for USB 3 devices and USB-C charging while keeping my USB-C data port free. I also need a hub to have enough pass-through charging to power my devices and charge my laptop during heavy use! I haven't used any other ports yet. This hub gets the job done. I think cables are very important because they are "smart" and help the device increase the performance of a specific port or the hub itself. I use a cable from the PSU to the hub. But use my previous cable (which was laptop power) to go from the hub to the laptop. I have to leave a couple of mics plugged in (because of the tight space to access the mics) and a third mic that requires a second USB-C on my laptop. Between Zoom, an online DAW, and a bunch of other online learning apps that use a lot of CPU to work, this hub doesn't typically fall behind. In general. The weird "fix" is that I need to keep an eye on my laptop's battery level. When I first used it, the battery didn't hold a charge and turned red! Block all applications. But out of curiosity, I unplugged the charging cable from my laptop, saw how it responded (the flash was gone) and plugged it back in. Turn off the battery and charge it again, but at 12-13 watts. Then jumped up to 30-40 watts. My conclusion: Something with the power manager in the hub is not working properly. I have to remember to unplug/plug the power (on my laptop's end only) once or twice a day as soon as I notice the battery level dropping too quickly. As long as I see a new load going up by double digits, it lasts all day. So it can charge my laptop while powering the mic from my laptop's spare port and 2 other mics with 3 USB ports and heavy CPU usage for 10+ hours a day on workdays. I'll update when I know more about the strange defect. Anyhow, compared to other hubs that claimed to transfer charge to the laptop as well, this one actually works. Others were too weak to keep up with the laptop. I give 5 stars because it works! If I could, it would really be 4.5 stars. I'm happy with that. It would be better if I didn't have to keep the battery app running and track the unplug/plug moments.
