I bought the clear mats to protect our new kitchen counters. They are almost undetectable and really allow the beauty of the stone to show through. They buffer the impact of porcelain/ ceramics/ metal on the stone. They keep cups, plates and glasses from skidding off the counter. They resist stains. Let's see if they age well. I'm pretty sure they will. I haven't put the heat to the test. I liked these so much I bought 2 more. I recommend them.
