This adapter is a good solution to connect your PS2 to a modern flat screen TV. It converts stereo audio and component video into an HDMI signal. It outputs 480i and is compatible with NTSC (Japan/US) games. I tried several PAL (EU) games and the resolution was not compatible with my TV, other TVs may give different results. As for the picture quality. For what the PS2 puts out, it's very good! The resolution is pretty low compared to today's content, but it felt like a PS2. The sound quality is also very good! However, if you want the best, use the digital optical audio output. The image is blurry at first, but after a few minutes your eyes will get used to it and you'll be playing on PS2! I played Shadow of the Colossus and the colors were correct. On a newer TV, the game has an ethereal quality. Soft graphics give the whole game an almost fabulous look. That feel is better than the high-fidelity of the PS4 remake. Gives events more emotional weight. Legacy of Kain Defiance has also held up well. The artistic aesthetic stands up and the story is just as captivating. I forgot how strong the character Cain was, but I quickly adapted to his abilities and showed how easy the gameplay beats the graphics. Virtua Fighter 4 was decently detailed and the timing was ok (I'm not a fan of fighting games, more casual) so there's no lag. no serious problem. That said, I don't have the equipment to test this adapter, just "feel" it, so your experience may vary depending on how much accuracy you want or want. All in all, this is a good buy.
