available I wanted to use the microphone to record a VERY IMPORTANT conversation and make it come out very clearly. I installed it on a tape recorder and made sure the device worked while recording. and game. I carefully connected the microphone and made sure the record button was on. I leaned back in my chair to listen to the speaker and thought I'd take notes. I lost a very important conversation that I can never recover. I didn't test the mic before I needed it in a live situation. Just thought you plug it in, turn it on and go. Found out the hard way - always test to make sure it works - before actually having to make a major note.
