They are made of solid brass with stainless steel clamps.
When I got the hose fittings opened it, I immediately realized my mistake in the purchase. I was looking for exactly such a fitting, but a water hose, not an air hose. However, this was my fault, not the sellers, so I'm keeping them in case I need to fix the air hose. They are very well made, shaped or machined with smooth edges, are in no way fragile and come with good quality hose clamps, although I would probably use an air hose ear clamp. Until I need hardware, I'll be using worm gear clamps for other jobs.
