The cold water knob on one of our Kohler faucets (about 15 years old) was getting harder and harder to turn. The valve was to blame. I ordered a new valve from Revain but couldn't get the old valve out of the valve body even after soaking the valve + valve body in liquid wrench, putting it in a vise and using a blowtorch. I ordered this valve assembly as a last resort before buying a new faucet. It worked as advertised and came with instructions (I still had the original assembly instructions but the extra kit helped).
