I bought two of the slip leads for my 53 pound pibble. The first one did not contain a "stopper" and after using it once I came back to amazon to buy this one. It's great. You set the stopper easily enough and it doesn't slip, which means when the "noose" closes it doesn't choke the life out of my dog but stops exactly where I have it set. No more, no less. The dog can "back out" of this type of leash if you let it get loose and aren't paying attention. But in addition to the metal stopper there is a leather "slider" which keeps the leash from opening up too much.The leash does wind up under my dog's legs a lot, but so far that happens with every leash I own, even if its attached to a harness on her back. The cord is tough. The handle is comfortable and big enough to hang onto with a gloved hand. It seems like a high quality lead. It doesn't really stretch and I don't know that I'd consider it chew proof, but I know I like using it.
