Straps are the issue

I saw buried in these reviews, a note from someone saying that the waist strap would need lengthening for folks with a waist measurement over 32", and thought that was insane, considering that the manufacturer states "One size fits all. This belt is fully adjustable to fit any waist size or height." This, to be blunt, is a crock. I have a 38" waist, and it takes quite a bit of effort to get the waist belt to go around the clasp - I have about 2" excess to toy with, and this is not reassuring. To the other strap, the one that holds the weight, I've seen other reviews noting that this is too long. Not for me. I'm 6'3", and it's perfect. So the moral of the story is that if you're very slender and shorter than 6', the belt will fit perfectly and the weight strap will be too long. If you're taller with a waist size of 36" to 38", the belt will fit with a lot of work, and the weight strap will be perfect. (If you're a 40" waist, you're SOL.) A smart fix would be for the manufacturer to make a longer waist belt and a shorter weight strap - sell 2 different sizes.Outside of this, it's remarkably comfortable. I did dips with 2x45-pound plates, and this belt held on with supreme comfort. The leather is thick, but pliable, and the weight strap appears to want to stick around for many years. The craftsmanship appears top-notch. I prefer this rigging to chains, only because it's quiet and unpretentious, but chains would be an easy replacement from the hardware store. The belt is the thing. It's really quite incredible. I just wish that it didn't make me work so hard to make it fit.
