Normally when I get a phone or laptop charger I expect it to last at least a year before breaking due to normal cord wear. It only lasted me for 2 months. Right out of the box, the charging block was slightly warmer than my old charger. I figured since the charger worked and my computer didn't give any warnings, there wasn't a problem and maybe the manufacturer made the insulation cheaper. The charger stopped working last night and I did a little research as chargers don't usually fail that quickly. I've found that chargers rated for lower wattage tend to overheat and burn out when plugged into a higher wattage computer. The sticker on the charger matches the sticker on the back of my laptop, so I suspect the charger may have been mislabeled as a 45w charger. I have no proof of this, but I suspect it happened.
