This article states that the strands were "crouched" when I received the product, it was neatly packaged but cheaply packaged, the hair came as shown on the bow and when you touch the strands it looks like like a girlish, very silky blond hair. HOOKED IN THIS GENERAL BO, AT BEST, it was twisted and beaded when it was enough for me to check the crochet and hold the locks, unwind slightly at the very bottom and it unraveled and curled straight up. I would be VERY SCARED to put these "LOCKS" (twisted strands of hair) in my hair and/or ever wash it. The description says nothing about how they curl or how they hold up after washing. If you don't get any response about washing this product and I A. RECOMMEND washing it before making it permanent and B. Make sure you enjoy extreme curls and tousled hair after twisting this hair. I was very excited to get them but I KNOW IT'S NOT KNIT BECAUSE I HAVE REAL FRUIT IN 3 YEARS AND MY FRUIT IS CONNECTED, you will never be able to unwrap, wash out or even clean my curls . For all future buyers, I hope you check it out and ask LOTS of questions because not everything is what it looks, looks, sounds or reads. So disappointed. I rate the SOFTNESS 5 stars - and for me the SOFTNESS IN THE CASTLE is NOT GOOD, Amazon issued a refund without hesitation and for that I am happy with the return.
