Review on Equus 7068 Tachometer Chrome Black by Joshua Follansbee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rugged and Versatile

I had an Equus 7068 installed on a motorcycle for 12 years before it failed. Given the harsh environment and price, this sensor is a bargain. I installed the same sensor on another bike at the same time and it continues to work great. The description is not entirely accurate. The Equus 7068 can be programmed for engines from 1 to 12 cylinders. My bike is a twin but each cylinder has its own coil so it's a 1 cylinder engine on the rev counter. There are few, if any, other cars that will work with the Single. The backlight is a standard incandescent lamp (2 bulbs) and contains red, green and blue filters. I wired it directly to the ECU's speedometer signal, but the kit includes an inductive spark plug wire clamp. Requiring a 12 volt power supply, this tachometer will work with any engine from Briggs & Stratton through V12 Waukesha. However, it will not work with coil-on-plug motors unless the ECU gives a RPM signal.
