I decided to try them because another brand I had used before wasn't quite suitable for this purpose. So I put the capsule in a stainless steel Mira bottle with warm water, put the lid on and let it sit for a while. Surprisingly, he boiled so hard that he immediately ripped the lid off the bottle. left an impressive but discouraging dent in the kitchen ceiling, as well as appearing to damage a water bottle (the bottle *looks* fine but now makes a rattling noise). Luckily there were no injuries, although judging by the look of the ceiling it would be pretty serious if there had been. Next time I will fill the container with less water and leave it at least partially open to avoid further damage to the kitchen and/or myself. On the positive side, however, the inside of the bottle was flawless afterwards.
