This was my dilemma: I had an 8" cutout above my fireplace that was only 2" taller and less than 1.5" wider than the TV I was installing in it wanted to. I knew it would be very difficult for me to get him to plug it in and plug in the cables once I plugged it in if I could. I didn't want a full articulation mount as I wanted it to maintain a low profile, but I also knew a standard tilt mount wouldn't fit. I came across Sanus while researching a product and after seeing many positive reviews I decided to take a look at what they have to offer. I also called their 800 number and spoke to a customer service representative who was very knowledgeable and referred me to this mountain. I had no intention of spending that amount on a mount, but in the end it was money well spent. It took a little while to install and yes there were some pinched fingers and a few swear words, but I don't think any other tilt mount would be as easy to install and hook everything up. after installation. Not only can you tilt up and down with this mount, you can also tilt side to side as you can control the extensions independently. This came in very handy when connecting cables to the back of the TV. Additionally, socket head alignment screws on top of the arms made centering in space a lot easier. Very satisfied and will be purchasing other Sanus mounts for my future mounting needs.
