Unfortunately I will always play games on tablets. Touch screen games didn't give me what I wanted, but I knew I wanted a portable system. After some research, I realized that the DS library is full of great RPGs and platformers that I was looking for. I also checked the 3DS library but didn't find anything worth spending the extra money on so I bought it instead. I am very satisfied with this device. Although it's all plastic and the top feels a little flimsy, there's a lot to like. The interface is fun. Just playing around with the camera is surprisingly interesting. The larger screen compared to the regular DS is a welcome change. The controls feel good in my adult hands. I like that there is a small slot for the stylus. The choice of colors is great. I prefer the bronze color as the DS blends well with my other gear (tablet and phone). It has an SD card slot which is great for downloading software. Most DS games are relatively cheap. However, this device cannot play older Gameboy Advanced games like the original DS can. I only have two problems. First, as the 3DS library grows to the point where I start seeing titles that I really want, I may need to sell and update them. Second, the way the device accesses the internet and user accounts isn't as convenient as it is on PS3 or Xbox 360. This is a problem with Nintendo's online services in general, and not necessarily a hit on the DS, but it is is something I feel Nintendo should solve this problem. Now I'm totally excited about this system.
