Polished stainless steel but too soft to remove scratches

Works as advertised and is a good price. In hindsight, I should have tried adjusting different levels of smoothness to remove and polish the scratches. They do not remove scratches, only superficial stains. The photo shows a stainless steel corner, the edge was polished with this product but there were deep sanding marks. But through no fault of the product I have to use a tool with a different grit.
