I am knitting for the first time. I read reviews of wooden and metal knitting needles. I finally decided on wood because I read many reviews that yarn slips off metal much easier than wood. As a beginner, I wanted to make it as easy as possible to get started. I also had no idea what size needle I would need, so the fact that there are several different sizes (most of which I probably won't use) was a great option. When I was thinking about buying a set of a certain size the cost wasn't much cheaper than buying the whole set so I think it's great value for money. I'm not disappointed yet. Ps- is great for making simple kitchen rags
