First off it's solid, with engraved aluminum arms, brass and stainless steel hardware, instructions are helpful. As another reviewer pointed out, it tends to get sloppy, reducing accuracy. However, I took a simpler approach to make it work better: I went to Lowes and bought some 8-32 and 6-32 brass knurled nuts, some #6 and 8 nylon washers, some longer stainless steel 6's -32 plus several #8 screws. Brass washers. Placing the nylon washers between the aluminum rods reduced friction, so I fitted brass washers on either side, with an extra nut to secure the screws tight enough for accuracy, but still moveable while maintaining a parallel architecture (reduced the twisting). now easier to use accurately. Basically, the joints should be tight enough to eliminate sloppiness, but still loose enough to move. I think the additional cost is about $5, more or less, enjoy! You need to drill holes in the center for the #6 bolts, the original ones were #4-40, they are hard to find so modifications are needed, still a great machine.
