I have never bought or used sewing patterns in my life. I was able to use this pattern to make a bear which turned out pretty well although I have no experience. I used an old towel for the fabric and sewed everything by hand. I think I ended up using about a square foot of fabric and about 10 ounces of fiberfill. The face is embroidered with silk. I also made a small scarf but it is not part of the pattern. Overall I was very happy with the pattern and the fact that it includes multiple animals to choose from (bear, cat or dog). small animal. If you want the limbs to stay in a sitting position, you may need to add a few strategic stitches near the joints. I decided against it
