Review on πŸ‘– Childrens Place Boys' Chino Pants - High Quality Boys' Clothing for All Occasions by Kenny Sarma

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality for the price, better than other popular brands of uniform pants!

We love these pants! Our oldest son wears navy pants with his school uniform and he has worn them with pants as well as 2T, 3T and 4T chinos which he has recently outgrown. (We also bought them in khaki for off-duty.) He's tall and slim, but with an adjustable waist (7th buttonhole either side!), the 5th fits him perfectly. His feet aren't cramped either, so I'd say they're true to size. If you're not sure, try them out in a store if you can. When our son needed 5T/5 pants I went to The Children's Place but they didn't have the navy blue in his size so I perforce went to Old Navy and bought two pairs. Big mistake. Her pants seemed good enough and cost about the same as kids store pants, but it quickly became apparent that I should have ordered these pants instead of buying them from Old Navy. The old navy pants weren't originally as dark blue as these, and after two or three washes they began to fray, especially at the knees. (Read the reviews on their website if you don't believe us - we're not the only ones!) He had a recent fall on concrete and it wasn't particularly hard (I witnessed it) and his Old Navy pants suffered a huge tear in the knee . . I went to the kids store to have them replaced and couldn't find his size so I left the store and ordered them from Revain at a great price! Also, it was Saturday and I received it on Monday (whoops, first class shipping!). Comparing these pants to the ones I got from Old Navy is amazing. Of course they are new but the color is much deeper and the fabric is much thicker and better quality than the Old Navy uniform pants. Our experience with these chinos is that unlike other pants and shorts (including other styles from The Children's Place), they don't wear out with washing. I'm so glad I bought them and will not be going back to Old Navy. I would buy more but not sure if we need to buy more before he's allowed to wear shorts again (March 1st). The good news is that our youngest son will almost certainly be attending this school for the next two years and all the trousers and shorts we have in this style from Children's Place are still in excellent condition. That way we probably don't have to buy a lot of uniform trousers/shorts for him, if at all. One thing to note if this is important to you is that these are not toddler sizes, so the button on your pants is actually a button. , rather than a hook-and-loop closure like 2T-4T pants. All in all a quality pair of pants for the price. You really can't beat the cost even if you go to other stores. When I get home tonight I'll try to photograph them next to the Old Navy pants so you can see the difference between the two and the wear and tear the Old Navy pants have taken after only a month and a half in the uniform change . Edited to include photo dated 01/13/16: Pants at right - Old Navy - note that the knees are fading at the knees and the color is lighter overall. They were worn 1-2 times a week from the beginning of November 2015 and were not worn for 2.5 weeks during the winter break, i.e. not worn that often. The pants on the left are the ones shown.
