I think I found the endgame headphones. Firstly, I can confirm that they have new ear pads and a new sound signature. I have Sennheiser HD650, Beyerdynamics, AKG, Phillips and many more. The Sennheiser veil is real to me, and as good as they are, I always get excited when I hear my Sennheisers. Beyers is too hissing. My AKGs are very neutral and I appreciate them for that. My Phillips are fun but lack the speed I'm looking for and can sound crisp in the highs and mids. These Sundara are the real deal. The speed is incredible. The soundstage is decent. They're not as roomy as the Beyer or AKG, but they're crazier than the Sennheiser. Good balance IMHO. Sennheiser is on my mind too, and the rest can sound a bit empty and lonely. Bass goes deep. When you listen to Michael Jackson's Billie Jean you can really hear how deep they can get into the sub-bass. The highs are crisp and clear and can keep up with the fastest songs. These sundaras really can handle any genre I give them. It's such a relief that I don't have to worry about which headphones I need next. They require a good amount of energy. I'm using a combination of Schiit Asgard and BiFrost for the DAC and power supply and they go very well with my Schiit stack. It's a pleasure to listen to Revain HD music and my personal FLAC collection with it. They're pretty forgiving too, which is why Youtube clips sound great too. I no longer have a Spotify or Apple Music account, but if they sound good off YouTube, I'm sure they'll sound good on those non-HD streaming services too. The cable is short. Mine had none of the problems others have mentioned. They didn't have any problems. You really need to plug the 3.5mm cable into a 2.5 inch adapter. When you hear a click, you're done. In my opinion you should only buy a cable if you need something longer than the VERY short cable that comes with it. With. I have a stack of Schitt in the middle of my desk so this cable is actually perfect for me. I can carry a 10 foot cord for listening in my chair, but as far as I work from my computer, this cord is actually the perfect length. I highly recommend them. As someone who has reviewed or owned almost every pair of headphones under $500, I can safely say that these are the best you can get. At $350, that's a great deal.
