These custom fridge filters are overpriced compared to the external activated carbon block filters, but I didn't want to install a custom filtration system under the cabinet. But don't we all know that? Like everything these days, it's all about consumables. So this is an OEM filter for LG fridge. It snaps instantly and works great after rinsing. (Wish the Asian fridge makers had designed them with higher capacity filters.) Edit to add: I just installed the 3rd one in 2 years and the last one is a whopping $50 - same as the local hardware store. The first was $34, the second was $42 and now it's $50. I see what you're doing, Jeff, and I don't like it. We're done here. This is a regular carbon filter in a fancy tube. High quality carbon block filters typically don't sell for more than $18 and filter four times as much. boo! Time to look elsewhere.
