Much easier than soldering.
My old valve did not close fully. I put a washer in, but the new washer must have been old and hardened because it still didn't fully close. I thought of taking another brass valve like the old one and soldering it on, but it was much quicker and easier. Nothing leaks and closes completely. The cost is a little higher for convenience, but in this case it was worth it.
