Assembly requires three strong (female) men and a mule. The first problem is that the two vertical braces that make up the metal side don't "slip together" like the instructions say. Have a hard hitting rubber mallet handy to get these racks in place. As you can see from the photos, the alignment isn't perfect, but it's initially offset by at least 1/4 inch. That's what I have and I'm ready to take a nap! This piece will be in a dark corner of my bedroom so I'll keep trying to put it together. If you want this ladder bookcase to become the decoration of your home, I would advise you to buy another product or prepare for a laborious afternoon assembly.
