Review on Beaba 912066 BEABA Babycook Sorbet by Kelly Kaliyan

I have read many reviews of Beaba and other similar products and also spoken to my cousin who has used Beaba on her two girls for two years. She also writes for a children's website, where she does extensive research on children's products. She told me that she has never had any problems with mold or any of the other issues that people report. I wanted to make sure I was buying something worthwhile, especially given the high price. I'm sure you're worried about the mold problem and how to clean it up. This part is not as problematic as I thought. After a few uses I cleaned it according to the directions by pouring in 100ml of water and 100ml of white distilled vinegar which can be measured with a mixing bowl. After pouring vinegar and water into the compartment, it is written that you leave it overnight and drain it, and then run it on the usual cycle with water. I found that worked great. I also made sure to remove the lid from the heating compartment each time I was done so it could air out. cooling down. Another part of cleaning I learned is very important to take out the blade and remove the cleaning pad. The seal is a small rubber suction cup that prevents anything from spilling out of the bottom of the bowl. I didn't do it the first few times partly because I figured I could clean it well enough by just leaving it in the bowl. I was wrong, food gets stuck in the ridges on the blade which are difficult to clean unless you remove them. I fiddled with the blade a few times trying to figure out how to get it off. I found out later that I had lost some of the blade in the process. It started making unusual grinding noises, and then eventually almost stopped working. I finally removed the blade and found that the plastic part of the blade had melted because it wasn't pressed in tight. In the evening I called their support and left a message. They called me back the next morning promptly and came to terms with me as to why this happened. They send me a new blade for free and I don't have to pay for shipping, although my husband got it working with the blade I already have and sent an extra shim which I requested and paid $2 for. The Beaba comes with two spacers anyway because it's made out of rubber and it's a material that can break more easily than the rest (her words). They told me to throw the other one away because it covered the part that was melted and additionally tightened. I love beaba and think it's a great product. Cons: Lots of parts to clean, I only use Beaba a couple of times a week when freezing food so it's not a big deal for me (I recommend Oxo freezer trays). Advantages: You can buy all spare parts. on-line. Cons: Shipping can cost around $5 even for a $2 item. The biggest plus for me is that I can feed my son healthy and fresh. I can tailor the food to his needs. Also, I can control the texture by using the water the food was steamed in. Great product, great customer service.
