My 4 year old grandson loved it. It was a hit on his birthday. The setup wasn't as easy as I expected, but we managed it. Sticks are generally placed in small pockets at the top and bottom, although squeezing them into the pockets is sometimes a bit difficult. However, it can be easily blown away by the wind. So if you take it outside, be sure to put rocks or something like that in it! It's actually a covered tent, which we knew when we bought it, but he also liked the covered deck. I didn't find the roaring noises particularly loud, but he could hear them very well in the tent.
