I use it all the time when I'm making a big batch (of anything). They hold just over 1/2 cup in each compartment, so a two-piece set will handle a gallon and a half of whatever you cook in one freeze cycle. I mainly use them for sauces like spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce and chili peppers. After freezing, I place the contents in ziplock bags and return the frozen cubes to the freezer. When I need to make a pizza, I take out a cube and defrost it. I know 4 ounces of my marinara makes a pizza sauce. Spaghetti is half a cup of sauce per person. One "cube" of chili is good for two chili dogs. With a little cutting effort, you can cook weeks of food very quickly. Another plus is that you know the ingredients of your products and you don't fill your fridge with half-empty bottles of store-bought sauces. Once frozen they always come off easily, just flip and press the bottom of the silicone and the product pops out instantly. I throw them in the dishwasher to clean, so far without incident. I wish they could be stacked in the freezer but I knew they had no way of doing that.
