Review on Onyx Chantal Classic Loop Enamel-on-Steel 1.8 Quart Teakettle: Stylish and Practical by Tim Olson

Rusted after 2 years, warranty expired

I'm posting this review of a kettle I received. The kettle worked quite well but started to rust after about two years. The Chantal guarantee on the surface of the teapot is 5 years. I contacted Chantal to request warranty service. Chantal asked me to send them pictures of the teapot. I emailed them the pictures and then asked them twice to confirm receipt of the pictures. They stopped communicating after receiving the pictures, thereby refusing the warranty service. I have posted some of the relevant images I submitted as part of this Chantal Guarantee claim in the Amazon Customer Images section. As I use my kettle quite a bit I bought this higher quality ceramic coated kettle specifically for the rust control and expected success due to the brand warranty support. After that interaction, I gave up kettles entirely in favor of a simple stainless steel pot that I'm sure will never rust in my lifetime, but of course it doesn't have a whistle. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this kettle or the company that makes it. For those who try very hard not to forget the simmer pot, I recommend the cuisinart stainless steel pot model #719-16 Amazon ID B00008CM69.
