I have purchased separate brushes for specific makeup tasks. I'm usually persuaded to invest when I take makeup classes from famous brand designers like MAC, Bobbie Brown or Clinique. Whether you use a famous brand/designer or not, you can't go wrong with good brushes. I am a painter and I have learned from years of experience that paying more for a good brush can make a difference and will teach you to invest more in quality tools to get the job done better and faster. I spent a lot of money on a makeup brush which led me to this set; Oh God! Look at all those brushes! This set is amazing for its value and variety of brushes. There are so many brushes in this set that you and a friend could work on this together and you both would have a lot of great brushes. What's happening? So many positives, but what worries? There are some minor manufacturing issues. The travel brush is somehow glued crooked, last photo. There doesn't seem to be a dense contour brush that I'm used to. I'm in my 50's and maybe it's not in style anymore. I personally have never used it because I tend to break out with too much brushing. It's been a long time since I had a MAC and maybe a true makeup artist will miss this brush. Another problem I noticed right away was that the box was damaged. If you are giving a gift, it would be ideal if the box was intact. As the ad shows that the set is being offered as a gift, it is important to keep the box in good condition as part of the overall gift. I'm sure it's just an accident, but it shouldn't happen. The bag is great but not equal. As you can see in the photo, one strap is longer than the other and is loose. There are no particular cons, but I am writing with the hope that the seller will see and correct this. Don't break the deal by buying this set for yourself but we all deserve and expect quality and all items must be in good condition. I immediately took all the brushes out of the case, threw away the protective film, even thicker plastic. , and washed the brushes thoroughly, rinsed them very well in water of medium temperature, changed the shape of the brushes and laid them flat to dry. These brushes and beauty tools are sturdy and will not shed or shed with washing. I also washed the case. I've played with them and they work just as well as the fancy single brushes I bought. photo penultimate; I've put together some recently purchased brushes. All in the last 2 years. The three on the left are in the set and are close to the three on the right. The brush on the far right is from MAC and is now sold in 35 pieces. The other two were $15 each at the Vitamin Shoppe, Mineral Fusion line. So over 70 for three brushes with tax. This is an investment. The whole set is very beautiful. I've compared the feel and ease of use of several of these brushes and they will work. Everything is listed at around 25 at the time of writing this review. It is amazing. 5 Stars.
