These hooks look very nice, but getting them to be rock solid is quite difficult. I've bought similar hooks in a kit that don't have this problem. Most importantly, the mounting plates must be attached very firmly to the wall. I haven't been able to do this with any dowel in the drywall. The supplied screws and dowels were completely useless in my case. I screwed them directly into the studs, which solved that problem, but also prevented me from getting them exactly where I wanted. In my application I use them for heavy bath towels. The need for them to be very strong can be reduced by hanging lighter items. I would also like to point out that they are slightly larger than I expected. Not all of my towels have loops that actually fit on them, so there are a few things to keep in mind. I like the look of them they go great with other fixtures I have in my bathroom.
