These shorts are great for lounging around at home and in bed, especially if you don't like sleeping in long tracksuits/pyjamas. I recommend them for the gym or any outdoor activity because of the style and the thin fabric: they really are too casual for anything more than lounging around. That's just my opinion of course, so if you're the type of guy who wears old frayed gray jogging pants or worn t-shirts with cut off sleeves in public, by all means blow your mind! I've had several pairs of these shorts over the past ten years and these are my sleep shorts. All my first purchases were from Sports Authority and then 2 from Revain in the last year. While quite light and soft, the shorts are relatively durable as none of my clothes ever wear out or tear - I just feel like losing a few times in a few years, on a trip or in a hotel, and then again to buy. The material of the current shorts is about the same as my originals, but the stitching around the waistband is a lot less detailed and frankly looks a bit scruffy. The old shorts had very detailed, strong and useful stitching around the waist and drawstring area - I've included some photos for comparison. My last purchase had long strands of excess thread hanging from some of the seams. I had to trim everything instead of doing better quality control at the factory or dealer. The internal label is still annoyingly sewn into the vertical seam at the very top of the tailbone (a tear in the bottom, to be honest). So I just carefully cut it out before the first wash. I'm not a fan of logos, but FYI, the logo used to be embroidered on the leg, now it's just screen printed. I'm not too happy with belt changes or threads sticking out all over the place, but I have my last pair on sale at lunchtime on a prime day, so -review!
