This product is mainly made of plastic. If you use one of these for 3 months or more, you either live in a house blessed by the elves or you never use the door it is installed in. We had several of these. At first I thought oh I must have bought a bad one. Then the second one in the package also broke quickly. There are very few replacement options so I bought more of these. And they keep breaking. When we bought our house these things were all metal - they will last for years. But there aren't any more. You can buy the N-6544 (also available from Revain), which has only the wheel made of plastic and lasts an average of six months instead of three. But the little plastic wheel breaks. It's MADE TO BREAK (note how thin the wheel is, except for its outer edge). This model, N-6582, was designed to break ANYWHERE, and it will happen. Good luck getting the pieces out of the hole in your door when the outer plastic case snaps in half! HOT. GARBAGE.
