This book bag is legal! First let me say I'm ULTRA picky! I looked at several bags for hours before deciding on this one. The anti-theft feature with a zip on the inside of the bag under the straps is SO GOOD, extra security that no one who can stand in line behind me or a thief can easily get into my bag when I have it on , everything I need to fit in with easy access to my camera and keys, now I'm hands-free in shops and strolling through parking lots with my hands full of bags, I don't have to juggle everything anymore. It's not real leather but looks like it, good quality, buttery soft feel like leather, clean lines with stitching and thick material but not heavy at all even with all my stuff in it. Lots of space for an iPad or tablet, lots of pockets, both open and zipped. The smell that people have written about is there when you first take the bag out of the box and packaging, but it dissipates quickly. It's more of a plastic smell, I didn't find it unpleasant and I'm very sensitive to smells. Buy this bag! You will not be disappointed.
