The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter does not work with all wireless PC WLAN adapters. I have two laptops and this wireless display adapter worked fine with one PC but not the other. I finally found out that this wireless display adapter is not compatible with one of my PC's wireless Wi-Fi adapters, in this case the Realtek RTL8723BE wireless adapter. Searching the web I saw that some people managed to replace the Realtek adapter driver that came with the PC with a driver downloaded directly from Realtek support. I've tried this with mixed success. The most frustrating thing about this situation is that Microsoft support does not communicate this compatibility issue to their customers. My advice is NOT to purchase this product until you are certain that it will work with your particular PC.
