I don't like vents. I knew from other reviews before purchasing that the phone holding mechanism only works really well when the phone is held vertically and does not work when held horizontally. While this is a major design flaw (in my opinion), there is currently no other similar device for the Rav4 that doesn't cost 3x the price. I was hoping to use the attachment for this device and maybe connect the device's "ball" to another phone holder I already have. I was able to do this (update see below) with a thin rubber to accommodate the size and now I can plug my phone in and hold it vertically or horizontally. Oh, and I'd like to say that it connects really really tight to the car (I took the advice in the review to put a lot of pressure on the ridge, which is placed just below the hazard button). Edit - The above change doesn't hold the phone. shockproof, so I took this product apart and used its back (which is connected to the "ball"). I used a drill and a small screw to attach it more firmly to the MPOW phone mount I already had. Now it seems really solid. If it were, it would be 5 stars. I left it 4 because it really does what it does, it just can't hold the phone horizontally.
