This is a slightly more technical review for you guys, and if you're only using it to connect to Wi-Fi, you can safely ignore it. After purchasing it, I found that it doesn't work properly with some Linux setups that are normally guaranteed to work (Kali). After some research I found out that the adapter has two versions - one with an Atheros chipset and the other with a RealTek chipset. So far the only reliable way to tell if I have it installed is to look at the bottom of the device itself to find the FCC number, which is a small string of numbers just above the barcode on the back. If "TE7WN722NV2" is displayed, you have RealTek version 2, which cannot be used for some projects. Otherwise, you probably have a more advanced version of Atheros. Another way of saying it is that sometimes it says "v2.1" or something similar next to the serial number on the back. So far I haven't found out if the box has an FCC number or revision as I threw it away before I found out. I'm rating this product two stars because it's not clear I have anything to worry about. around. At least there should be something in the description that says it's version 2, which uses a RealTek chipset instead of Atheros. I don't know if they even sell version 1, but a few people I asked said they received this version, meaning the seller can just randomly choose between version 1 and 2 to ship it.
