My daughter goes to forestry school, so durable, waterproof sneakers were a must for every day. These are fantastic shoes. Like all See Kai running shoes, they are very comfortable and have lots of padding. She has almost completely soaked them in the mud and her socks are still dry. Yes, they're expensive, but if your child spends most of the day outside, then these shoes are a must. I wouldn't spend that money just for cool or comfy shoes as they are meant to be worn. They run a bit small, so choose one size larger, especially for wool socks. If you need something with more ankle protection, opt for the sister shoe, the Atlas.
