(edited) Might be good for backing up non-critical data, lots of coasters and I'm skeptical about durability

(Edit: Turns out one of the lasers in my flashlight was about to writing the review below i could have died, oddly enough i could still burn music CD-Rs with no problems - i found out that there are actually different lasers for data and for sound, i recorded on them with no problems, has several Data backups. Not sure yet if I will use these for "critical" backups, but I wouldn't review them so strictly now!) Firstly, if you are going to backup B. important multimedia projects or data and BD- If you need archival quality R discs, do NOT expect to find them at this price point. Spend the extra money and get Verbatim and you won't regret it. So I got them because they were cheap and I had a lot of non-critical data and media files on some drives that I didn't want to easily erase but wasn't too keen on backing up either. on discs that will be unreadable in 10 years. However, I am concerned about the amount of coasters I have left. Basically, these drives would fail before writing could even begin. There are others that appear to have burned well but failed the CRC check. In general, I'm not very upset, but I won't buy them again, and since the spool is only half used, I have to ask the question: if you add up all the burnt coasters, it would be better if I paid the same amount of money for one Pack of 25 issued by a brand I can trust (Verbatim #1 but I'd settle for a few others)? We all know the old adage: if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. If what you reserve is valuable, don't go for the cheap option.
