Review on RFID Blocking Stylish Genuine Leather by Srinivas Johnson

Reads employee ID cards like a normal wallet

Bought for Christmas '15. I've been using it daily since January 16th. It's a nice wallet with plenty of room for cash and cards and feels pretty sturdy. In other words, it works like a regular, albeit expensive, wallet. When it comes to signal blocking, however, things are a bit more complicated. I have a company badge that allows me to enter buildings by holding my card to the reader, unlocking doors and logging employee details. It is usually kept in regular wallets, which are then held against readers that scan them easily through leather and other items commonly carried in wallets. I figured I'd have to take it out now since I have an electrically sealed Faraday cage protecting the badge. A bit of a hassle, but I guess that's the price of safety. But the good news for me is that it still reads straight from the wallet! So what does that mean? How can this wallet prevent card readers from reading cards when door readers can read ID cards? I don't know how the icon works, but it doesn't have a battery, so it's passive. Maybe there really are two completely different technologies, one with a chip and the other with a stripe, then this wallet is really practical? I have no idea, but since I can only test it with my employee's badge/door reader, I can say with certainty that it fails that particular task every time. There is no performance difference between a normal wallet and this one when it comes to blocking my employee ID card. As always YMMV.
